Farm School Bay Day

Students and families are invited to meet up at Mission Bay to hang out together.

Summer 2026 Bay Day

We’re meeting at Bahia Point adjacent to the Bahia Resort (same location as previous years)  3218 Gleason Road San Diego, CA

Tuesday, August 18, from 10 to noon - New and continuing students and their families.‍ ‍

This community building tradition was started by students several years ago when kids wanted to see their Farm School friends in the summer.  Parents enjoy the chance to get to know one another and swap homeschooling tips.

  • Bring whatever watercraft and sand activities you want.  I often bring a paddleboard or kayak.

  • Parents - you are staying to watch your kids and meet other FS parents. No student drop off.

  • Note: life jackets are required for paddlers under 13 as paddleboards over 10 feet long are legally considered vessels. I bring 3 or 4 life vests but if you have one, bring it.

  • Look for a gold Ford Explorer. I’ll be in a turquoise beach cover-up and broad brimmed hat. We are usually about 100 yards down the point from the Bahia Resort on the grass, beyond the swimming - only zone.

Directions

Directions:  heading west on W. Mission Bay Drive, turn right or north onto Gleason Road.  Continue straight onto the point - do not turn right into the cove parking lot.  Parking is adjacent to the 4-5 story Bahia Resort.  We park abou 400-500 feet from the intersection of W Mission Bay Dr and Gleason near the grass.  On this map, we are on Gleason road on the grass 480 feet north of the orange marker indicating the Bahia Resort and Hotel.
