2025 -26 Middle School Seminars

Updated classes, prices, and schedule as of 6/6/25

I’ve had to push back the start time of all classes to accommodate our fall milking schedule.

Fall Semester - Tuesdays

Weeks 1 - 16

August 26-December 16 & January 6 (no Tuesday classes on Veterans Day)

10:00 - 12:00 Math 8 + Honors Pre-Algebra Includes drop-in tutoring on Thursdays for 45 minutes $450 per 15-week semester, 2.75 hrs/week (January 6 is a make-up day for Math.)

Weeks 1 - 4

August 26- September 16

Month-long workshops in the Sci-LA time slots $230 per class. Each class is 4 weeks.

12:00 - 2:00 pm Writing Workshop: Art of the Essay- timed in-class writing $230 Lunch recess included
12:00-3:30 Shakespeare & Co. -$330 Second Semester January 13 - February 3 (no longer a second Writing Workshop in this time slot)

Weeks 5 - 16

September 23- December 16 & January 6

12:00 - 4:00 Science & Language Arts in the Writing Workshops time slot $700 per 12-week semester Lunch recess included

Spring 2026 Same classes + Shakespeare, Possibly Book Club Plus

Second semester is January 13- May 21. Make up week the last week of May.

Weeks 1 -16 Math classes January 13, 2025 - May 21, 2026 - Last class in May is a math make up day
Weeks 1-4 Shakespeare & Co drama/literary workshop instead of Writing Workshop (Tuesday 11-2:30) January 13, 20, 27, February 3, 2026
Possibly Weeks 1-4 Book Club Plus on Thursdays (Thursday 12:30-3:00) January 15, 22, 29, & February 5, 2026
Weeks 5-16 Sci-LA & Real Life Farm Science Resume on February 10/12, 2026 - May 21, 2026

Fall Semester - Thursdays

Weeks 1 - 16

August 28-December 11, January 8

10:00 - 11:45 Math 7 Includes drop-in tutoring on Thursdays for 45 minutes $450 per 15-week semester 2.5 hrs/week (January 8 is a make-up day for Math.)

11:45-12:30 Drop-in Math tutoring for Math 7 and Math 8 + HPA (this is included in the price of both math classes)

Weeks 5-16

September 25- December 18 & January 8

12:30 - 2:30 Real Life Farm Science $400 per semester - Lunch recess included

*2:30 - 4:30 Real Life Farm Science $400 per semester* This section will be offered if the 12:30-2:30 section fills up.

FALL SEMESTER IS AUGUST 26-JANUARY 8
Weeks 1 - 4 are August 26-September 18
- Math and Writing Workshops start Week 1
Weeks 5 - 16 are September 23- December 16 & January 6*
- Math classes continue
- Writing workshops end
- Science and Language Arts starts
- Real Life Farm Science also starts
FALL HOLIDAYS
- No classes Veterans Day
- No classes Thanksgiving week
- Winter Break is three weeks Dec 17 - January 5
- *Last week of the semester is January 6 & 8 for all non-math classes. This is a planned make-up week for Math. If we don’t need the make-up week we will start spring semester that day.
If we need additional make up days (and we usually do) they will be May 26 & 28
SPRING SEMESTER IS JANUARY 13 - MAY 21, 2026
Weeks 1 -4 are January 13 - February 3
- Math classes resume
- Writing Workshop: HS Research Paper
- Just Shakespeare
Weeks 5-16 are February 10/12, 2026 - May 21, 2026. May 19/21 is a make-up day for math.
- Writing Workshop ends
- Just Shakespeare ends
- Math classes continue
- Sci-LA & Real Life Farm Science start
SPRING HOLIDAYS
- February Break is 2/15-21
- Spring Break is 2 weeks March 30-April 10
If we need make up days for non-math classes (and we usually do) they will be May 26 & 28
These are middle school classes with significant academic rigor.
SCIENCE & LANGUAGE ARTS 6-8th grades
REAL LIFE FARM SCIENCE 5-8th grades
MATH CLASSES -any age/grade as long as they meet the math prerequisites and have the maturity to do homework and be in class
WRITING WORKSHOPS
- WW: Art of the Essay - 5-8th grade, but must be writing fluent paragraphs
- WW: Creative Writing & Poetry Analysis: 5-8th grade
- WW: HS Research Paper 7-9th grade. Must be able to write a full essay and read at a 7-8th grade level at least

Classes now need to start at 10 instead of 9 to accommodate Ursula’s milking schedule and my daughter’s class schedule.
