Math 7
This is year 1 of our pre-algebra sequence. Students should have completed 6th grade math or Beast Academy level 5 and be proficient in all arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) including “column-math” without a calculator, as well as basic decimal and fraction operations.
Yes, students can skip ahead if they work over the summer to complete a math 6 course and are fast at their arithmetic facts.
Once a week for 2 hours right after In Real Life Farm Science
Honors Pre-Algebra + Math 8
Students who completed PA/Math 7 with me last year are ready for Math 8+ Honors Pre-Algebra this year
This is year 2 of our pre-algebra sequence, but it includes more than just pre-algebra. Students are also introduced to MUCH of traditional algebra and some geometry through our Integrated Math 8 material. This course is fast-paced and builds upon the solid foundation we established in year-one.
New students may take a placement test to see if they are ready. After this class students are ready for either Algebra 1 or Integrated Math 1 Honors (both are high school classes.)
Twice a week for 3 hours at 9 a.m. right before Sci-LA and IRL Farm Science
Science & Language Arts
Both hands on science and language arts in one class.
Once a week for 4 hours, with recesses, including a lunch recess and short afternoon recess.
In Real Life Farm Science (new class)
Hands on science and animal husbandry. No homework. No English language arts. Just science (and recess).
Once a week for 2 hours, with a lunch recess.
